You sell everywhere. Your books should know it.

Marketplace payouts arrive net of fees and refunds, inventory ties up your cash, and sales tax follows you into every state you ship to. We give online brands clean books, real margins, and a clear view of cash.

Sound familiar?

Selling online is fast. Keeping the books for it is anything but.

  • Shopify and Amazon payouts that never match the sales in your dashboard.
  • Revenue growing, cash shrinking, and inventory sitting in a warehouse.
  • No clear answer on which products or channels actually make money.
  • Sales tax notices from states you didn't know you owed.
  • A year-end inventory count that turns into a guess.
  • A Form 1099-K from a payment platform that doesn't match your books.

The e-commerce package

Built around how online brands actually sell. Take all of it, or just the pieces you need.

Books built for marketplaces

Payouts broken out into gross sales, fees, refunds, and shipping, then reconciled to your bank, so revenue and costs are reported correctly.

Inventory and true margins

Product costs tracked properly, with margins by product and channel, so you know what's worth selling more of.

Sales tax under control

A review of where you owe sales tax, registrations where needed, and filings on schedule.

Cash planning for growth

Inventory purchases, ad spend, and payouts planned together, so a strong season doesn't turn into a cash crunch.

Where e-commerce books usually go wrong

We see the same issues again and again. Each one distorts your margins or your tax bill.

  • Recording payouts as revenue instead of gross sales less fees
  • Expensing inventory when it's bought instead of when it sells
  • Missing a state's sales tax threshold until a notice arrives
  • Mixing ad spend, shipping, and fulfillment fees into one account
  • Ignoring refunds and chargebacks until year-end
  • Skipping the year-end inventory count and reconciliation
  • Paying sales tax on sales a marketplace already collected for you
  • Personal and business purchases on the same card

Sales tax rules and thresholds vary by state. This is general information, not advice for your specific situation.

If this were our business

We'd look at contribution margin by product every month: the sale price minus product cost, fees, shipping, and ad spend. It's the fastest way to see which products fund the business and which quietly drain it.

We'd also keep a simple tracker of sales by state, checked every quarter, so a new sales tax threshold never comes as a surprise.

Questions online sellers ask

Which platforms do you work with?

Shopify, Amazon, Etsy, WooCommerce, and other marketplaces, alongside QuickBooks or Xero. We set things up so payouts post correctly every month.

Do I have to collect sales tax in other states?

Possibly. Most states require it once your sales there pass a threshold, often $100,000 a year. Marketplaces generally collect on sales made through them, but sales on your own website are your responsibility. We'll map where you stand.

Cash or accrual books?

Accrual, in most cases, once you carry inventory. It matches product cost to the month the product sells, which is the only way to see your real margins.

I'm not in California. Can you still help?

Yes. We work with brands nationwide, fully remote, through a secure client portal.

What does it cost?

Our plans and starting prices are on our Pricing page. After a free call, we confirm a fixed fee before any work begins.
